Greetings from Las Vegas!

Well, a new chapter has begun in the life of little Julien - we have officially completed our move to Las Vegas! Still unpacking boxes but it is starting to come together quite nicely. The house is smaller than our house in Memphis, although about equivalent to the downstairs. The yard, on the other hand, is much much smaller. Fortunately for the dogs there is a small patch of grass. Need to work on the sprinkler system though before it all dies!

Here's whats been going on since my last post...

Papa Guy and Grandma Carolyn came to visit while we were still in Memphis. We had a nice weekend with them and enjoyed some Central BBQ one last time. The next weekend we drove down to the Coast for a visit with Granny (Judy) and PawPaw (Dave), Great-Grandma Jean and Great-PawPaw. I thought there was going to be a fight between the grandmas and aunts over who got to hold him! The drive was long as always, but Julien slept most of the way up and down. While on the Coast we also got to visit with Kaye and Kellye.

Julien had his 2mo. checkup a couple weeks early. He had DTaP and Rotavirus vaccinations. I am holding of on the others just a bit. I would have delayed them all if it wasn't for the move, but I didn't feel comfortable having him around a lot of people at the airports without Rotavirus and Pertussis (which only comes as part of DTaP these days...). He has grown quite a bit since his 2wk checkup - he now weighs 11lb 9oz and is 22in long. Still a shorty as far as the averages go... 25% percentile for length, but 50% for weight. He's just a day shy of 9 weeks now and last time I weighed him "unoffically," he was 12lb 9oz.

He has found his hands and tries to suck on his fingers but he hasn't quite figured out he has to open up his fist for that, so he usually just ends up sucking on the side of his hand. Still doesn't like tummy time too much, but he can raise his head up and hold it pretty good now. He also doesn't bobble his head as much when being held.

The flight to Vegas was uneventful. Julien fell asleep at the airport before we boarded and somehow managed to sleep the ENTIRE way to Vegas. He didn't even wake up or cry during takeoff and landing... absolutely amazing!! We stayed with Brandon and Jamie (co-worker/friend from Memphis who have also moved to LV) for a couple of days until daddy arrived with the dogs and our stuff was delivered at the house. Brandon and Jamie have a 2yr old - Kyra - who was totally into the baby.

Yes, I know this post is all over the place. A little disorganized, just like me lately! Hopefully once things start to settle down and we get into a routine I'll be able to keep the blog more up-to-date. I promise.... really!!
